Yada Pruksachatkun

Yada studied computer science and mathematics at Wellesley College, and is now a graduate student at New York University Center for Data Science. She is interested in the growing relationship between technology and mental health issues, researching computational mental health and working on problems related to empathetic machine learning.

She has contributed to Facebook, MIT Media Lab, and Internet.org using the coding skills she taught herself, and she became the first Thai teenager to found and run a multinational organization in her country. Her organization is a non-profit that spans all of Thailand and Cambodia. She has coded up the MVP backend to Thailand’s first office-book platform.

Yada also led a team of four engineers and designers to create a Chrome extension (activerank.co), which displays how well a company treats their female employees based on pay gap, percentage of women in the company, and reviews from women who have worked at the company.
